Armenia is a mountainous country located in the South Caucasus, in the crossroad on Western Asia and Eastern Europe. From the West it is bordered by Turkey, in the North is Georgia, in the East de facto Independent Nagorno-Karabakh Republic and Azerbaijan, and Iran to the South.

Arriving to Armenia by Land
There is a railway connecting Armenia with Georgia, also two highway routes that provide access to Batumi and Poti. Another route in the South connects with the Persian Gulf.

Visa Information


Armenia has an agreement for mutual non-visa entries with Georgia, Russia, Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. It is necessary to have valid international passport and if you need visa get it either:

 Armenia’s Currency
Armenian national currency is dram, or internationally AMD. There are exchange points in all the banks and supermarkets, so tourists will have no difficulty to exchange their money.
 
Armenian Time
Time in Armenia is 4 hours ahead GMT (Greenwich Mean Time + 4). This year Armenian government decided not to change the time for daylight savings any longer. Local time is 12 hours ahead from West Coast American States and 9 hours from East Coast States.
 
Climate in Armenia
Weather in Armenia has different climatic ranges. It has continental climate. Summers are dry and sunny with temperature ranging from 22 to 38 °C, however in the evenings there is always pleasant breeze. Winters are quite cold with much snow, temperature ranging from -5 to -12 °C, which makes Armenia a favorite destination for winter sports loving travelers.
